JEFF HULTMAN

A seasoned pioneer in the wireless and telecommunication markets, Jeff Hultman brings over 30 years of unparalleled experience to the Funk Ventures advisory board, which he joined in 2004.

As CEO of AirTouch Cellular, now Verizon Wireless, Mr. Hultman grew the company to over $1 billion in revenues. His partnership with Qualcomm resulted in CDMA technology becoming the industry standard and he led the determining effort in winning the West German D2 license to compete against the Bundespost and become Germany’s second cellular service provider.

Mr. Hultman was also CEO for Dial Page, a leading provider of wireless telecommunications throughout the Southeastern US, where he raised over $50 million in private equity, executed 14 acquisitions, and led a successful IPO. He worked with Motorola to develop IDEN technology, sold off Dial Page’s paging operations for $187 million to MobileMedia Communications and completed a successful stock merger with Nextel Communications valued at $850 million.
