ENTRETECH/PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS ANNOUNCE FINALISTS FOR FOURTH ANNUAL
ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD
PASADENA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 27, 2007 -- Entretech (www.entretech.org),
a leading business development organization supporting high technology companies
throughout Greater Los Angeles, today announced nine finalists for its fourth
annual Entrepreneurship Award program. Offered in partnership with
PricewaterhouseCoopers, the world's largest professional services organization,
the award celebrates the entrepreneurial vigor and business achievements of
technology companies in Greater Los Angeles.
The nine finalists for 2007 include: Auditude, Inc., Desktop Factory,
Prolacta Bioscience, Alelo, Inc.,
Provision Interactive Technologies, Snap.com, LegalZoom, Oversee.net and Energy
Innovations. (company descriptors below).
The finalists will be recognized and present company overviews at Entretech's
"Hot Companies Morning" on March 1, at the Athenaeum on the Caltech campus in
Pasadena. The Entrepreneurship Award winner will be announced at an awards
dinner on April 19, featuring keynote speaker Ruth Owades, distinguished
entrepreneur, and founder of two successful companies, Calyx & Corolla, and
Gardeners' Eden. Launched in 1988, Calyx & Corolla -- now a $25 million company
-- was the first-ever fresh flower catalogue and website, using FedEx to ship
flowers direct from growers to consumers. This transformed the billion dollar
fresh-cut flower industry. The business community is invited to attend both
events.
"The finalists exemplify successful young companies with annual revenues ranging
from under $1 million to $40 million that have achieved significant product and
market milestones as represented by either customer commitment or early
revenues," said Stephanie Yanchinski, Executive Director of Entretech. "They
represent a group of emerging technology leaders." She continued, "The award
also acknowledges the growing importance of advanced tech within Greater Los
Angeles, and its contribution to the economic wealth of the overall region."
"We're excited about the significant growth in the award this year to expand and
honor companies in three key stages of entrepreneurial growth, and by the
tremendous level of support and involvement from the Greater Los Angeles area
technology community," said Louise Wannier, Chairman of the Entrepreneurship
Award Committee. "This year, our 4th annual, we have seen the applicant pool
grow and enable us to present and honor an outstanding roster of emerging
companies."
Previous Entrepreneurship Award winners include Guidance Software, a leader in
computer forensics and incident response solutions that completed a successful
IPO in December 2006 and NextAce Corporation, provider of title insurance and
mortgage lender real-estate software.
