The information provided below outlines FVCP's general investment approach.
While we periodically evaluate companies that fall outside of our criteria, we
are not likely to pursue investments in companies that don't fit the
requirements below.
Our passion is our Focus
We are
searching for promising
companies and technologies that can significantly impact people, society and
the environment in a positive way.
Sectors of particular interest include wellness products & services, non or
minimally-invasive medical devices, recreation & lifestyle, alternative
energy and clean tech.
Stages of Interest
By using
venture funds, managed syndicates and our own capital, FVCP has created a
hybrid structure that allows us to support the growth of emerging companies
at many levels, from seed to expansion stage. The table below outlines the
various stages at which FVCP will consider an opportunity.

Investment Size
Our
investment size ranges widely based on the type and stage of an opportunity.
We have made investments as small as $50,000 and have led financing rounds
of over $10 million.
Geographic Locations
We invest
across the United States, with California being a preferred location. We rarely consider foreign investments but will do
so for the right opportunity.
Type of Investment
FVCP
generally makes standard VC convertible preferred stock investments or
variations thereof. We sometimes use debt to supplement an equity
investment. We are not lenders and don't make pure debt-investments.
Management Team
We are
looking for a team with the knowledge, experience, track record and
dedication to grow an exceptionally successful business. Demonstrated
success in previous undertakings, entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to
create shareholder value are necessary attributes. The team does not have to
be complete. We often assist in filling it out.
Value Proposition
We are
looking for highly differentiated, unique and significantly superior
technologies, products and services. It needs to be demonstrated why the
marketplace will purchase the company's product or service rather than a
competing alternative.
Marketability
While we do
like to invest in companies that serve a large market, we are more
likely to invest in companies that address a
meaningful percentage of customers in
well-defined, growing markets that can be identified and accessed
economically.
